From 1991 until 2017, Sergio created a series of 116 paintings, “The Walls”. He began with the walls of his native Mexico and later, in France, created a smaller series of French walls. He wanted to capture the beauty and life of walls, passed by every day, often without notice.

 

The technique of casein, the whey of milk mixed with pigment, was new to him but with it, he found the perfect medium to capture the matte quality and refinement of colors in the walls.

Exhibits of “The Walls” in Los Angeles, Mexico, and Francestirred much interest and collectors began acquiring their favorites. At this moment there are eight originals in his Cave Creek, Arizona gallery.
