Our many afternoon late lunches on the balcony of MARCO POLO’s restaurant in downtown Cuernavaca inspired several WALLS. Here a young indigenous mother was changing her tiny baby in front of the walls surrounding the Cathedral of Cuernavaca. Next to her are the bracelets and necklaces she was selling. We were struck by the fragility of the scene in front of the centuries old wall. In the final piece Sergio added a Giotto angel on the wall, to act as a protection for the mother and child. Thus the title the angelic baby and the Giotto angel – DOS ANGELITOS.
